Babies

It's a Girl!

Thursday morning our gray cow had her calf. She sure is cute. We are really excited to add to our herd and we pray that we will soon have fresh milk. We have been working with the mama cow and it is going to take some time getting her accustomed to milking, but thankfully we have had two successful, but admittingly scary, trial attempts so far.

And Thursday afternoon, we got to see this baby for the first time:

We aren't sure if the baby is a boy or girl, but baby Donaldson number seven is due around April 25th. We couldn't be more excited! Praise the Lord, the baby appears to be healthy.

Wow Jessica!! I had no idea! Congratulations to you and Dane and may God grant you a safe and healthy remainder of your pregnancy and a smooth delivery. How exciting that your quiver continues to grow! And I hope you get lots of milk from your mama cow. That calf sure is cute.

Brandi, Kim, Susan, and Kris, Thanks to you all for your well wishes and prayers.

Kim - Health care in Argentina in the private sector is pretty comparable to health care in the U.S. - from what we've seen anyway - only much, much cheaper. Public health care is free to all regardless of nationality, and for emergencies that require minor care like when our son got his toes severely cut in a bicycle sproket (which did require surgery to reattach them - not exactly minor, but ??), it was good; however, the public hospital is a scary place in general with beds and people all over the place. We have been warned to stay away from there for anything that might require a lengthy stay.
I sure do miss the midwife care that I received in Texas, but the OBGYN that I have here is really kind.

Take care and may the Lord bless you all,
Jessica
